What Should I bring?

Preparing for the Gun Range

Before heading to the gun range, it’s essential to prepare yourself and your equipment. Proper preparation ensures a safe and enjoyable experience, allowing you to focus on improving your shooting skills.

Essential Equipment

Here are some essential pieces of equipment you will need to the gun range:

  • A handgun (provided if using training kit): Ensure your handgun is unloaded and in a safe condition before transporting it to the range. Always handle your firearm with care and follow all safety protocols.

  • Ammunition (provided if using training kit): Bring the correct type and amount of ammunition for your handgun. Double-check that you have the right caliber and quantity to avoid any issues at the range.

  • Ear protection: Earplugs or earmuffs are essential to protect your hearing from the loud noise of gunfire. Prolonged exposure to gunfire without ear protection can cause permanent hearing damage.

  • Safety goggles: Safety goggles are crucial to protect your eyes from flying shells and hot gases. Eye protection is a must to prevent injuries from debris and other hazards.

  • A gun cleaning kit (provided if using training kit): A gun cleaning kit is essential to keep your handgun clean and well-maintained. Regular cleaning ensures your firearm functions properly and extends its lifespan.

  • A target (provided): Bring a target to practice your shooting skills. Targets help you gauge your accuracy and improve your aim.

Remember to always follow the four cardinal safety rules of firing a handgun and to use a firearm safety device to prevent accidents and unauthorized access to firearms. By preparing properly, you can ensure a safe and productive visit to the gun range.
